Greetings to all my readers of my new social column, so put on your high heels and wigs — we're about to get started!

This Halloween the doors will finally creek open to Seattle's scariest and creepiest haunted houses, starting now and running through November 6. I go to the Georgetown Morgue every Halloween and am always shocked and scared — you don't even want to get me started about my fear of clowns and chainsaws. The Morgue is different every year, with changes that will always keep you on your toes, never knowing what to expect around each darkened corner! One of my favorite places to take my out of town visitors is to Bill Speidel's Underground Tour in Seattle's original neighborhood, Pioneer Square. In 1889 nearly all of downtown Seattle was destroyed in a lake of fire. A new city was built on top of the ashes and ruins, creating a labyrinth of passageways and caverns beneath the streets. Hear notorious ghost stories as you roam the spooky hallways, catacombs and pass by the burned-out abandoned storefronts of this once bustling underground city!
